Gordon Caris Clock Repair

The son of Gordon Caris, Guy Caris now runs the business, he is a 5th generation antique clock repairer in Hexham, in the North East of England

Gordon Caris started his own clock repair business after training with his father and after that in Toronto, Canada. He was the 4th generation of his family to repair clocks and started helping in the family business at the age of 14.

Establishing his own business in 1972 he is renowned all over the country as an expert in clock repair and restoration.

Over the years we have worked on some of the worlds most valuable clocks by makers such as Thomas Tompion, Daniel Delander and Daniel Quare.

Gordon sadly passed away in January 2019. After working alongside Gordon for many years, his son Guy is now the 5th generation carrying on the family clock repairing tradition.
The workshop is in Hexham market place opposite the Abbey.
